Birmingham International Jazz Festival - 18-05-2007

The 23rd Birmingham International Jazz Festival is set to run from Friday 6th to Sunday 15th July.
Over 10 jazz-packed days, the city will swing and sway with more than 150 performances taking place in some 60 venues including bars, hotels, clubs, restaurants, shopping malls, stores, concert halls, the city’s streets and squares

The Birmingham International Jazz Festival, was launched in 1985, and takes place for 10 days annually commencing on the first Friday of every July. It has become one of the country’s most influential and important annual jazz events and has without a doubt provided the blueprint and inspiration for many other UK jazz festivals. It is probably the longest-established jazz festival in England.

Almost all of the events are FREE to the public, with the 2007 Jazz Festival set to beat the previous years attendance of 152,000 people.

Featured artists come from within the region as well as from the rest of the UK and from USA, France, Spain, Germany. Holland and Scandinavia. The Festival also presents youth events, master classes and instrument clinics.
