Templeton Pek are one of four UK bands to be picked to go on a National tour of Academy venues.
‘Academy Events is focusing heavily on seeking out rising bands to perform headline shows on home turf, but also giving them the opportunity and step up in their development to play to new audiences in new regions, as they tour our Academy venues' says Academy Events promoter, Jon Wing.
The first 'Academy Live' dates in July and August will feature four bands from Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle and Liverpool, on a rotating bill where each act will headline the Academy venue in their region.
The four bands, Templeton Pek, Showing Off To Thieves, The Hot Melts and Seven Heroes will also play an ‘Academy Live’ showcase in London on Wednesday 1st August.
Templeton Pek are a 3-piece from Birmingham who have just unleashed their debut album, “No Association.” Templeton Pek carried off storming sets at Give It A Name 2007 and Taste Of Chaos last year, and have toured with an ever-growing list of mammoth bands.

The Hot Melts from Liverpool describe themselves as “keyboard infused punk rock’n’roll, for the kids to the bids.” Currently unsigned, The Hot Melts are a band most definitely on the up.

Seven Heroes are currently tipped as the next ‘big thing’ to come out of Newcastle. Despite only forming in mid-2005, Seven Heroes have rocketed to the forefront of the North-Eastern music scene, earning themselves a reputation as one of the most energetic and exciting new bands around.
