Birmingham's own Indie/Rock pioneers Cold Rice are getting ready for the launch of The Big Bang's debut album.
Cold Rice have been pushing the Birmingham indie rock scene for some years now, promoting gigs and helping bands along their way, as well as hosting and DJing at various events and underground parties. Now Cold Rice are preparing for the release of The Big Bang's debut album "Shoot The Freak" later this month.
The Big Bang are a Birmingham 3 piece, featuring Matt Smyth, Scott Abbott and Dan Finnmore. They jive to Little Richard, drink to Johnny Cash and worship at the altar of early Black Sabbath, which can give you a slight impression of what their music may sound like. Having been described as "a big,bad whirlwind of rock and roll"
The band established themselves on the scene through gigging with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Modey Lemon, Editors, Demons Claws and The Datsuns, to name but a few.
This year the band look to spread their rock n roll across the country on the back of this debut release, which will start with the album launch party at Birmingham's Sunflower Lounge on Friday 20th June, where the band will perform, along with a host of Cold Rice DJs too.
"The Big Bang are the epitome of rock'n'roll." - The FLY "Undoubtedly the best unsigned band in Birmingham" - NME "A hot-to-trot explosion of a band" - Rock Sound "Demons are not so much exorcised as they are summoned to dance and rip through the audience via primal roars of rhythmically satanic and obscenely dirty riffs." - Media Assassin "Balls the size of rocket launchers!!" - NME "They are rock and roll personified. You can smell it on their breath." - Tamworth Herald
