Birminghamusic.com are giving local photographers the chance to have their work exhibited alongside that of a legend.
Karl Ferris, the father of psychedelic photography, is hosting an exhibition of his famous album cover photography of legends including Jimi Hendrix, Cream and Donovan. Here at Birminghamusic.com we are launching a competition to find Birmingham's most talented photographers within the music industry.
Four lucky winners will see their work showcased at an exhibition being held at St Paul’s Gallery to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1967 summer of love. Whether you specialise in the photography of live music performance, potraits or album covers, you could have your work displayed alongside some of the most recognised album artwork in the world
The Karl Ferris Experience launches on 31st August with a weekend of live music and special guests including Robin and Bina Williamson, formerly of The Incredible String Band, Trevor Burton of the Move and the legendary Steve Gibbons. Many more musicians involved in the psychedelic era are expected to visit the exhibition which will run until the 6th October.
We will be accepting entries up until 10th August 2007.
To enter your work please send copies of your work to Birminghamusic.com. Please do not send originals as we won't be able to return your entries. You can either email, or post you work to us.
