Drumfest began 8 years ago, when John Brookes, Mark Richardson, Gary Husband, Paul Winter-Hart and Rod Morgenstein  made the bill. Since then Drumfest has brought to Birmingham such names as Mike Portnoy, Simon Phillips, Steve White, Gregg Bissonette, Nicko McBrain, Steve Smith, Zoro, Frank Tonto, Kenny Aronoff, Will Calhoun, Thomas Lang, Billy Cobham and many, many more.
Rhythm magazine's Readers poll has awarded Drumfest for Best Drum Event for the last 4 years in a row.
