Birmingham Bands On Tour - 07-04-2008

Birmingham bands are spreading their wings and taking to the road lately.

There seems to be something in the air that is inspiring Birmingham's bands to take to the road and share their music with audiences across the country and even further beyond.

Blakfish only recently returned from a string of dates in Ireland with the hottly tipped Tubelord, and now the firey four piece are in mainland Europe for 10 days, playing across the continent.

Templeton Pek have backed the release of their debut album on Smalltown Records with a UK tour, and now are out on the road again with No Use For A Name, which includes a Carling Academy date, and a UK tour with Mindless Self Indulgence soon too.

Avantgarde noise-makers IO have recently returned to the UK following a small tour of France, and have also just completed a string of dates in the UK, including a date at The Sunflower Lounge in Birmingham.

I Spy Strangers have just ended their run of dates, where the 5 piece played up and down the country, finishing off with a headline show at Birmingham Barfly.

Mirror! Mirror! are about to take on a sprint of dates finishing up at the popular Hott Date night at Digbeth's The Rainbow on 13th April.

All Or Nothing took on a week long run of dates with Chaos Days to promote their Zone 6 Records release 'Is Pretty Hot Right Now', and also toured Ireland with Save Your Breath.

Shapes are preparing for the release of their debut EP in May and have a two week tour booked with Exeter's OK Pilot from May 6th onwards.

There are likely to be plenty more Birmingham bands taking to the road on tours this spring too, if you know of any please let us know admin@birminghamusic.com
