Hats off to The Scarlet Harlots, the brummy boys got to the final of this years' Orange Act Unsigned on Channel 4.
Unfortunately the title was not theirs in the end, as Scotland's Tommy Reilly took the prixe of £60,000 and an album and single deal with Universal Records.
The Birmingham 5 piece were originally voted out earlier in the stages of the contest, but like last year's winners Envy & Other Sins (also from Birmingham) the band were voted back in in the later rounds. They often seemed the underdogs with their unique brand of drum and bass influenced indie, up against indei rockers Hip Parade and judges favourite, Tommy Reilly, with his solo acoustic act.
Well done to The Scarlet Harlots for doing so well. Check them out at www.myspace.com/thescarletharlots |
